Historic Hudson

Historic Hudson is a 501(c)(3) corporation founded in 1996 to promote the preservation of the city of Hudson’s unique architectural heritage through public events and programs that provide information about the city’s history, and foster appreciation of its historic architecture and its role in the quality of life and economic vitality of the city of Hudson and surrounding area.  Program funding for Historic Hudson has been supported by the Hudson River Valley Greenway and by the Columbia County Board of Supervisors.

Historic Hudson has made a fifteen year long commitment to the preservation and restoration of the Dr. Oliver Bronson House.  For a timeline, click here.

The Dr. Oliver Bronson House project is made possible through the co-operation of the New York State Office of General Services and the New York State Department of Corrections.  Historic Hudson especially acknowledges the staff of the Hudson Correctional Facility for its co-operation at the site to make this project possible.

Restoration of the Dr. Oliver Bronson House, and planning for future public use, is also made possible through the generosity of the Berkshire-Taconic Community Foundation, the Education Foundation of America, the Ellsworth Kelly Foundation, the Ettinger Foundation, the Gerry Charitable Trust, the Hudson River Bank and Trust Corp. Foundation, the J.M. Kaplan Fund, the National Trust for Historic Preservation Daniel K. Thorne Intervention Fund, the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (NYS OPRHP), the Preservation League of New York State, and loyal members, generous private donors and anonymous foundations.
