Flying Chimney Pots (The Last One)

You are probably getting sick of looking at pictures of chimney pot removals.  But each takedown presents a different set of challenges.   And the last chimney (SW) was a difficult one.  Because of the grade change and the presence of the kitchen addition, the lift could not be maneuvered close to the chimney to receive the pot.  And alarming cracks in the brick chimney base created safety concerns.  So the chimney base was reinforced with plywood sheets strapped together and a hand truck used to transport the recovered pot across the roof to the waiting lift bucket on the east side of the house.  Problem solved…
